Workshop Policies

Workshops fees are to be paid in advance and are not refundable ~ however if there is time to fill you spot you can apply you workshop fee to a future workshop.
All workshops posts will specify whether or not you need tools, supplies or other elements needed for the workshop of your choosing. Although it never hurts to ask, for you may have your favorite tools, supplies, etc. that you feel comfortable with and wish to bring.
Every workshop is a photo op so bring your camera if you like. Pictures at the cottage are always welcome!

"Introduction to Metal Stamping" by Linda Kinnaird Jewelry

This class will open your eyes to how much fun you can have with metal stamping!

You'll learn the basics of stamping with a decorative stamp on metal, how to use a hole punch
 and a dapping block, oxidize (or antique) your pieces using liver of sulphur, and polish your
 pieces in a rock tumbler to give your earrings a beautiful sheen. You'll also be practicing a
lot in this class on copper so you can get the feel of working with the stamps and metal.
Then you'll finish your piece by adding your choice of either a bead or crystal to make these
earrings all about you!
Supplies including in the workshop fee; tools provided for use during workshop.
So get you girlfriends together for a fun Saturday afternoon and leave with a fabulous
pair of earrings and the knowledge to create more!
Once you start stamping metal you won't want to stop!
Maximum number in class is 4 so register early to save your seat!

"A Step Back In Time" Pendant by Linda Kinnaird Jewely

                                               Saturday, August 14 ~ 2:00 - 4:00pm
                             


In this workshop you will receive instructions on the use and technique of Diamond Glaze and paper to create the background of a smaller charm/pendant base.  You will also receive a the large pendant base which Linda has prepared ahead of time for you
~ due to the long curing time for the Diamond Glaze.  (about a week)
Next comes the really fun part of adorning your larger pendant with your choice of bits & pieces!  Those piece are also supplied but if you have a fav bauble that you would like to add ~ bring it if you like!  And, but of course a chain will be included with the workshop, completing your step back in time pendant and ready to wear!

BEADING BASICS CLASS SUMMARY
In this class we will be learning to make simple wire loops, wrapped wire loops, wire wrapped lace beads, as well as the proper opening/closing of jump rings/chain links as well as linking beads and clasps. Helpful tips and hints will be interspersed throughout this class which will result in techniques learned to create a vintage inspired wire wrapped lace and beaded necklace comprised of wire, chain, sparkling Swarovski rondelles, Swarovski pearls in chocolate brown and platinum hues, Czech glass druk beads, vintage lace, toggle closure, jump rings.  All chain, beads and findings will be included with the class fee. Tools for this workshop will be provided for use.  If you happen to own a bead board with the sections and/or mat ~ bring it for your convenience. But a tray with mat will be provided. Some type of eye protection is a good thing if you have it for use while cutting wire.

Fun, friends and bling! It doesn’t get any better than that!

Elements of Collage by Lisa McIlvain

                                       ~Three hour workshop ~ Saturday September 11th ~
10:00am - 1:00pm
                                                                  
In this 3 hour workshop you will learn different techniques to incorporate into your art such as image transfer & resin paper. We will work on design, texture & placing elements to achieve an interesting 3-D quality. Supplies, both vintage & new will be provided but your encouraged to bring along any meaningful pictures or trinkets that may be worked into your collage. Because we are working with vintage findings each collage will be unique & reflect your own personal style.
